As she slides across home base for the winning run, Sarah’s elation turns to panic when she relalizes her leg has broken. Unable to participate in school, she is teased to try out for the cheerleading team. Uuma arrives to take Sarah and Flashback to 1918 Coyacan, Mexico to meet Frida Kahlo a young girl who finds her expression through sports and art, not letting her polio define her.

About Frida Kahlo

Artist Frida Kahlo was considered one of Mexico's greatest artists who began painting mostly self-portraits after she was severely injured in a bus accident. Kahlo later became politically active and married fellow communist artist Diego Rivera in 1929. She exhibited her paintings in Paris and Mexico before her death in 1954.
